Visual Language, Data Language and Website for Research Cluster »Museums and Society«

"Museums and Society" is a research cluster consisting of institutions including TU Berlin, the Natural History Museum, the Institute for Museum Research, the Berlin University Alliance, and Humboldt University. It aims to develop a historically specific and empirically grounded understanding of the changing role and function of museums in generating and negotiating the social.

Visual Intelligence was asked to develop the website as well as the corporate design. Our proposal was to design a visual language that not only represents, but can also be used by researchers as a tool. For this purpose, we developed a dynamic visual system of "tiles" that can be used to "map" the respective information.
